Scotland’s Garden Scheme Open Day
We’re delighted to be taking part in Scotland’s Garden Scheme Open Day for the third year this August.
Join us for an enjoyable day in the Gardens in support of local mental health charity Stepping Out.
Our gardens comprise a series of themed spaces designed for year-round interest. Explore our perennial meadow with swaying grasses and fruit trees. See incredible edibles in the potager; a productive polytunnel complete with grapevine; colourful cutting gardens and a wildlife area with willow tunnels, stumpery and pond. Our light and dark borders brim with monochrome and textural plants and our new water-saving garden features drought tolerant species in shades of blue, rust and orange. Visit the potting shed, where our artist-in-residence creates beautiful botanical casts and take wee ones on a minibeast trail.
There will be tours taking place at 11.30am and 3pm - a great opportunity to learn about the history of the Gardens as well as projects being undertaken and future plans.
Children can take part in the free minibeast trail, looking for a series of hand painted pebbles. We will also be running a fairy garden workshop (£3 per child) which will be run on a drop-in bases.
Don’t miss the range of wonderful produce which will be available to buy on the day including homemade cakes & cordials, preserves, freshly cut flowers and more.
Roz Hinds our artist in residence will also be here demonstrating how she creates her beautiful botanical casts.
