Commis Chef

Job Description

We now have a vacancy for a skilled and motivated Commis Chef to join the team in our Garden Café kitchen. You will assist in food preparation and production, whilst maintaining a clean and organised kitchen environment. This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about food and looking to grow their career in the hospitality industry.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in food preparation and production according to established recipes and standards

  • Ensure all food items are properly stored, labelled, and rotated

  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation of workstations, equipment, and kitchen area

  • Follow all food safety guidelines

  • Collaborate with other team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations

  • Support senior chefs in various tasks as needed

Skills

  • Previous experience in a similar role is preferred

  • Knowledge of food safety practices

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high quality standards

  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills

  • Willingness to learn and develop skills

Rate of Pay: Up to £13.45 per hour

Role Type: Full-time, Permanent

Working Days: Weekday and weekend work required

Kitchen Assistant

Job Description

We are now seeking a motivated Kitchen Assistant to join our Garden Café kitchen team. You will assist in the preparation of sandwiches and bakery items, and maintain a clean and organised kitchen environment. The ideal candidate will have great multi-tasking skills and a 'can do' attitude. This is a Saturday and Sunday position but there must be a degree of flexibility to cover weekday holidays as and when required.

Duties Include

• Preparing sandwiches and bakery items according to specification

• Helping to prepare ingredients for the kitchen team and dishes on the Garden Café menu

• Maintaining cleanliness and organisation of workstations, equipment, and the wider kitchen

• Following all food safety and sanitation guidelines

• Learning and working in the Kitchen Porter area as part of the role, covering holidays where applicable

Rate of Pay: Up to £13.00 per hour

Role Type: Part-time, Permanent

Working Days: Saturdays, Sundays and midweek holiday cover as required
