Getting Here

By Car

We’re just 40 minutes from the centre of Edinburgh by car, located on the A198 between Gullane and Dirleton. After leaving Gullane you will see a sign to let you know we are ‘next left’. Please note our entrance is a fairly sharp turn off the main road. We have plenty of parking available.

By Bus

East Coast Buses services 124 / X24 stop on the A198 at the entrance to Archerfield Estate. From the top of the road it’s just a ten minute walk to reach us. Click here to find bus timetables.

On Foot / By Bike

It’s easy to reach us on foot or by bike from Gullane, Dirleton or North Berwick and there are paths most of the way. We’re approximately one hour from North Berwick, half an hour from Gullane and twenty minutes from Dirleton, if walking and considerably faster by bike.

On the Train

It’s just 25 minutes from Edinburgh to our nearest station - Drem - however, if you don’t have transport waiting for you we advise getting off the train at North Berwick instead and jumping onto an East Coast Buses 124 / X24 service going towards Edinburgh. For full train info click here.

Garden Café

Our Garden Café operates on a walk-in basis so there’s no need to book. Just turn up when it suits and we will do our best to accommodate you.

Accessibility

Archerfield Walled Garden is largely wheelchair accessible. All of our entrances have double doors. There are four blue badge holder parking bays, located close to our entrance. We have two accessible toilets, one within the main building which has an electric adult size height adjustable change table, the other is located just off our Courtyard. The Car Park, Garden Café, Bar, Play Park, Food Market, Gift Shop and Toilets are all on one level with lots of space. Our Courtyard, which is often used for events, is lightly gravelled. The Fairy Trail is on a natural path through the woods and hasn’t been altered for accessibility, however, we have had lots of buggies and wheelchairs on the trail without any issues. Please give us a ring if you would like to discuss accessibility ahead of your visit or see our page on AccessAble by clicking the button below.

We now have a wheelchair available for visitors. If you would like to use it, please ask staff at the Garden Shop till when you arrive.
