We are delighted to welcome back acclaimed nutritionist, broadcaster and author Amanda Hamilton to Archerfield Walled Garden to host her ‘Nutrition solutions to…” series.

Each event in the series has a unique focus and includes Amanda’s expert advice, demonstrations and sampling, plus a Q&A.

This month we bring you The Marathon of Life: raise your sporting game in 2018.

Triathlons, marathons, 10ks, 5ks, open water swims - more and more of us are taking to East Lothian’s great outdoors and exercise is now becoming a core part of our lives as we recognise the positive impact it has on our physical and mental wellbeing. 

But are we fuelling ourselves in the right way to maximize our energy and performance levels, and reach our true potential? 

No matter whether you are training for an endurance event or simply want to know how food can fuel our game of tennis or golf, this third event in Amanda’s ‘Nutrition Solutions to…..’ Series will focus on techniques that are realistic and reliable, taking inspiration from her clinic work with several leading athletes, professional footballers and dancers. 

  • Fuelling for performance & recovery - how to get the fundamentals right
  • What is active rest and why is it so important?
  • Sleep, stress and factors affecting performance 
  • Sports drinks and gels, are they worth it?
  • Foods & techniques that help reduce the risk of injury

The demonstration will serve up some ideal recovery smoothies too!
